EU Ambassador to represent the Union in SAARC

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: European External Action Service (EEAS), foreign policy wing of the European Union, has officially assigned Ambassador Alexander Spachis, currently serving as the Head of Delegation of the EU to Nepal, to also represent the EEAS in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).



Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, assigned Spachis with the new responsibility, according to a press statement issued by the Delegation of the EU to Nepal. Spachis presented the letter to SAARC Secretary General Ahmed Saleem on Friday.
