Ethnic group threatens journalists

KHOTANG, Dec 29: The Khambuwan National Front, a group struggling for establishment of an ethnic state in East Nepal, on Wednesday evening threatened two journalists for writing news about them.



Editor Haribol Acharya and executive editor DM Chamling of Diktel-based Halesi newsmagazine received threats by telephone from one KB Khambu, who claimed to be one  of the 61 members of the central committee of the Front.[break]



Expressing his dissatisfaction over the news about Khambuwan cadres’ donation drive, Khambu warned the journalists of action by the cadres of the Front.



 Nobody from the Front was immediately available for the comment.



Earlier, the magazine had reported that the Front wrote to the Village Development Committee secretaries demanding at least Rs 15,000 in donation or face consequences.
