KATHMANDU, Dec 8 : Pro-monarch activist and medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has begun formal negotiations with Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki at Singha Durbar amid escalating political tensions nationwide.
The discussion focuses on key points from the 27-point demand charter Prasai submitted to the government, covering issues related to nationalism, governance reforms, religious freedom, and public security.
Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal is also participating in the meeting, while Prasai has entered the talks with a delegation of 19 representatives.

During the meeting, Prasai expressed dissatisfaction with the government, saying it has failed to implement earlier commitments made in response to demands his group has been voicing since November 22.
His charter calls for sweeping changes, including scrapping the current constitution and drafting a new one, replacing the presidency with a directly elected executive head, reinstating the monarchy, restoring Nepal as a Hindu state, protecting national sovereignty from foreign influence and ensuring stronger public security and civil liberties.
These demands were initially submitted to Home Minister Aryal earlier this month, after which the government advised that such fundamental political issues should be resolved through the electoral process rather than immediate executive decisions.
However, Prasai’s group has warned that if their demands are not fulfilled promptly, they will intensify their protests through a phased and more forceful manner.
