Political parties and their class organizations have been seeking donations from the Chitwan-based entrepreneurs for last two months under various titles, entrepreneurs said. [break]
A private school´s principal said that student unions of the CPN-Maoist and UCPN (Maoist) are seeking ´fixed´ amount by sending letters for organizing the district-level and central-level programs.
Chitwan district committee chairman of Private and Boarding Schools´ Organization Nepal (PABSON) Bel Bahadur Gurung said that the school promoters were in problem after donations terror was rife in the district.
Likewise, Nepali Congress affiliated health workers also collected a large amount of donations from the educational institutions for organizing its central gathering in Chitwan just some weeks ago.
Similarly, the CPN-UML also managed a huge amount of money from donations for organizing the party´s district convention last month. Similarly, the donation terror has suffered the hoteliers at Sauraha as well.
Chairman of Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Til Chandra Bhattarai said that the donation terror carried out by the political parties and their sister wings have irked the businesspersons.
However, the trend of donation terror has come down slightly after the police organized an interaction program with the businesspersons and political parties after Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramesh Kharel was posted in Chitwan.
The local administration has launched a campaign against hooliganism and donation terror as well.
