KATHMANDU , March 30: Speaker Devraj Ghimire is going to inform Parliament about the arrest of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Dhawal Shumsher Rana, who is under investigation for alleged offenses against the state.
Rana was arrested on Friday for allegedly inciting violence during a pro-monarchy protest. The police have already notified the Parliament Secretariat about his arrest. Speaker Ghimire is expected to read the police’s letter during Sunday’s parliamentary session. However, the Parliament meeting remains uncertain as opposition parties have continued their protest, blocking the session from proceeding.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, Rana is being investigated for offenses against the state. He and senior RPP leader Rabindra Mishra were arrested after Friday’s protest turned violent.
