KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba convened a meeting with leaders close to him on Sunday as the inauguration ceremony of the party’s special general convention convened by the party's general secretaries kicked off in the capital.
Deuba is said to have called the discussion to fine-tune the establishment faction’s strategy during the convention.

Meanwhile, General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have drawn overwhelming support from party leaders and cadres at the special convention. Their supporters claim that signatures of around 62 percent of delegates have already been secured, with more still lining up to endorse them.
