Data from the office show that eight cases were reported in Melauli Municipality, six in Dasharathchand, three in Purchaudi, and one in Patan Municipality. No cases have been detected in other local levels. Last year, 106 dengue cases were recorded in the district.
A campaign to search for and destroy mosquito larvae is currently underway across Baitadi. The disease spreads through the bite of infected female Aedes mosquitoes, said District Health Office Chief Tirtha Raj Bhatt, urging the public to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
Symptoms of dengue include high fever, headache, joint and muscle pain, and loss of appetite. Severe cases may involve bleeding from the nose, gums, or stomach.
The health office has advised people showing such symptoms to get tested for dengue and warned against taking random medicines without diagnosis, as it could worsen the condition.
