TANAHUN, Dec 5: Darai community is gradually losing its own customary practices along with ancient fundamental culture.

People belonging to this ethnic group are found to have been residing in Tanahun, Lamjung and Nawalparasi. Having around one million of population, the Darai people normally reside in ancient houses scrubbed with mud. [break]

In the absence of infrastructures for development, human settlements at Tanahunsur VDC are turning to be gloomy.

Villagers here have started migrating to district headquarters Damauli in search of services and facilities when there were no basic facilities in the village, some 25-km away from headquarters.

As many as 200 households have now turned to be in decrepit condition with local people shifting to the centre.
