KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday surged 30.75 points to close at 2,631.14 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,600.38 points and declined to as low as 2,594.62 points in the first nine minutes. The market then gradually rose and reached the day’s high at 2,638.06 points in the next two hours. The market witnessed nominal fluctuation in the remaining period before the market closed for the day.

Among 13 trading groups, only trading lost 42.58 points. Of the gainers, life insurance added the largest of 556.86 points, followed by non-life insurance with 145.74 points and finance with 116.36 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also added 4.41 points. The daily turnover increased by a notable amount to Rs 9.20 billion from Rs 7.51 billion.
Among the individual companies, 205 were gainers while 42 were recorded as losers. Himalayan Bank Ltd Promoter share witnessed the largest turnover of Rs 1.66 billion.
Five companies, including Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Gurkhas Finance Ltd, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd, People’s Power Limited and Terhathum Power Company Limited, were recorded as the topmost gainers by adding 10 percent in their market values. Khanikhola Hydropower Co Ltd plummeted by the highest of 4.76 percent.
