KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday escalated 53.01 points to close at 2,819.10 points.
The secondary market gained 15 points in the pre-opening session. After the main trading session started, it initially shed around 13 points. However, the market went on an upward trend throughout the rest of the trading hours. Overall, the market index surged 1.91 percent.

All the 13 groups were the gainers. As life insurance inclined by the largest of 288.42 points, a total of six groups were successful to add three-digit points in their market values.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined a notable 8.52 points. The daily turnover jumped to Rs 7.68 billion, up from Rs 4.18 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 232 were gainers while 19 were recorded as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 654.27 million.
Bikash Hydropower Company Limited witnessed the highest incline of 10 percent in its market price. KBL Debenture 2086 had the largest decline of 5.79 percent.
