Curfew in Rajbiraj, Rupani lifted

SAPTARI, Dec 4: Curfew imposed at Saptari's district headquarters Rajbiraj, Bharadaha and Rupani in the district, following killings of three persons in police firing on November 22 has been lifted today.

Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta said that the curfew was lifted, following improvement in the security situation in the areas.


He, however, said that people's movement is banned at Bhardaha and Rupani from 9am to 6pm as the places continue to remain as prohibitory areas.

Likewise, the District Police Office said that the curfew imposed in the areas covering the Koshi Barrage, the Balan River and the area 500 meters north and south of Gaighat Kadamaha road, from 8 pm to 7 am remains intact. RSS
