Constitution amendment process put on hold till Thursday

KATHMANDU, Jan19: The Legislature-Parliament will not begin process for endorsing the constitution amendment bill till Thursday.

The House was slated to begin the process on Tuesday, but the process was put on hold following meeting among major political parties.

The meeting of the parliament was called for 1 pm this afternoon. The meet got delayed for around two hours due to meeting of top leaders of Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist).  

The meet of major parties decided to forge agreement with the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) within January 21 and endorse the bill with the front’s consent.
