The agitating combatants have resorted to demonstration, accusing their commanders of determining the combatants’ number for integration against earlier understanding. [break]
A day earlier, the Maoist army´s General Staff meeting in the capital had agreed to move ahead the integration process and complete it by mid-April.
Janak Bista, spokesperson for the Third Division cantonment, said they have got an instruction from the center to temporarily suspend integration works despite Monday´s agreement.
With the works coming to a halt, the SC team has been left clueless as to what they should do now. "We have been waiting for the decision and will resume our task once we get the instruction," Madhu Bilas Pandit, a SC staff said.
As per earlier understanding, combatants willing to go for integration will be handed over to the Nepal Army by mid-April and those opting for voluntary retirement will be sent home, vacating the camp before May 12.
