“An Oman Air flight and a Qatar Air flight were diverted to Lucknow, India due to bad weather,” Suman said. While the Qatar Air later landed in Kathmandu, Suman said, the Oman Air flight didn´t land Monday. “Twenty-eight domestic flights from Kathmandu were canceled till three in the afternoon and a few other evening flights have also been canceled,” Suman added.
Meanwhile, people in Manang are facing acute shortage of drinking water after drinking water supply pipes burst due to freezing cold temperature, according to our Tanahun correspondent Samundra Paudel.
Acting Chief District Officer Daya Ram Shrestha said district headquarters Chame was hit by drinking water crisis on Friday while the upper region in the district has been facing the problem from Monday.
“The drinking water and sewage pipes, which had burst a few days earlier, were repaired but they have again been damaged following heavy snowfall Monday afternoon,” after Shrestha said.

Similarly, hundreds of passengers have been left stranded after continuous snowfall since Sunday night obstructed the Dadeldhura-Dhangadhi section of the Bhimdutta Highway, reports our correspondent Barun Paneru. Dadeldhura Police said dozens of passenger buses have been left stranded at the Sahukharka-Gaira section due to accumulation of up to 40 centimeters of snow.
Inspector Mahendra Chand said bulldozers have been sent from Dadeldhura and Doti to clear the snow. Dozens of vehicles have also been left stranded at Ghanaghasya, Anarkholi and Khodpe sections of the Dasharath Chand Highway linking Dadeldhura with Baitadi due to snowfall. The Jaya Prithvi Singh Highway has also been obstructed by snowfall.
