CIAA begins investigation into alleged petro-commission

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 20: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has started investigation on the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Regional Depot, Biratnagar for allegedly taking Rs 10 in commission per liter of petroleum products.

On Thursday Nagrik Daily had reported that the depot had been taking Rs 10 in commission per liter of petroleum products being delivered to the protesting districts Siraha and Saptari.


CIAA Regional Office, Sunsari had reached Biratanagar Depot on Thursday and started investigation into the case. The anti-graft body has already looked into the documents related to the process for sending petroleum products to the districts.

District Administration Office (DAO), Morang has held a meeting with the Commerce Office, Biratnagar and security personnel to this effect, SP Tarini Prasad Lamsal told Republica. The NOC has already directed the Commerce Office to look into the supplies of petroleum products.

Khilendra Karki, chief of NOC Regional Depot, Biratnagar, has allegedly been taking Rs 10 in commission per liter of petroleum products being sent to Saptari and Siraha. However, Karki has been refuting the allegation.
