LALITPUR, Feb 5: Chyasal Stadium, located on the banks of the Manohara River in Lalitpur, has been severely damaged by last September’s floods, turning the ground into a swamp. Officials estimate that Rs 20 million is needed for its repair.
According to Purna Sundas, an engineer at the National Sports Council, a report has been prepared detailing the damage and repair costs. The report has stated that repair of the stadium will cost more than Rs 20 million.

Meanwhile, Chyasal Football Club President Ramesh Benjankar expressed disappointment over the lack of government support. He complained that a request for Rs 1 million from the Sports Council remains unaddressed.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City-9 Ward Chairman Raju Maharjan emphasized the need for coordination with relevant authorities for the renovation. Chyasal Stadium was originally developed in 2019 at a cost of Rs 280 million as an alternative to Dasharath Stadium.
