KATHMANDU, April 1: Chudamani Chapagain has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
A cabinet meeting held on Monday appointed Chapagain as the NEPSE CEO.
Five candidates shortlisted for NEPSE CEO position
Chapagain, who hails from Jhapa, has worked for a long time with Sanima Bank. Currently, he is also the Deputy General Manager at SANIMA Life Insurance.
Previously, Narad Kumar Luitel was appointed as the NEPSE CEO, but the decision was not certified by the Chief Secretary. The cabinet appointed Chapagain as the recommendation of Luintel, who is also a tourism entrepreneur, could court criticisms. The position of NEPSE CEO has been vacant since February 7.
