BIRGUNJ, Jan 6: Indian traders have attacked Madhesi cadres staging sit-in at Birgunj check-point on Wednesday morning.
According to SP Raju Babu Shrestha of Parsa district a group of around 20-25 enraged Indian citizens, mostly Raxual-based local businessmen, clashed with the UDMF cadres, shortly after a verbal exchange. Both the sides are pelting stones at each other. The situation at the check-point is tesne.

UDMF cadres said that the confrontation took place after Indian smugglers tried to clear their way to transport their illegal goods.
Madhesi cadres led by UDMF have been staging protests since last 105 days accross Nepal-India border checkpoints demaning change in delineation of the federal units, number of constituencies and representaiton on the basis of population.
The unofficial blockade has seriously affected trades and transits in the cities accross the border check-points in both Nepal and India.
Update:
Seven people have been injured in the clash, police said. Of the injured, 24-year-old Chunu Mishra is said to be critical. A group of Indian traders had thrown a petrol bomb at the demonstrators.
Security personnel had been deployed in the incident site following the dual confrontation lasting for around a half-an-hour. The situation has come under control following the police intervention.
