Ruling party leaders of Bihar state have staged sit-ins at New Delhi to pressure the central government of India to stand for the Madhes movement.
India should diplomatically interfere for getting the demands of the agitating Madhesi parties fulfilled by the government of Nepal, according to RJD Vice-chair Singh.
Talking to Republica over phone, RJD leader Singh said, “We staged protests so that the Indian government could be pressurized at political and public levels.”
India was once the mediator to sign agreement between the then government of Nepal and the Madhesi parties. Now India should facilitate Nepal government in implementing the agreements, RJD leader Singh further said.
Bihari leaders also picketed the New Delhi-based Nepalese Embassy. “If these protests cannot fulfill the demands of the Madhesis, we, the people of Nepal and India, will go to Kathmandu for demonstrations,” Singh warned.
