KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Maeda Toru hosted a National Day Reception at his official residence in Tahachal on Wednesday to mark the 66th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.
Around 380 guests including Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav as the Chief Guest along with ministers, former prime ministers, former ministers, ambassadors, heads of international organizations, government officials and friends of Japan attended the event, according to a press statement by the Embassy of Japan in Nepal.

In his speech, Ambassador Maeda highlighted the recent visit of President Ramchandra Paudel to Japan from February 1 to 5, commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal. The visit reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the two nations and paved the way for deeper collaboration in the future.
Ambassador Maeda also reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Nepal and expressed hope for further cooperation toward shared goals of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development, press statement reads.
