Big 3 decide to discuss amendment bill with UDMF

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Major political parties on Monday decided to form a common stance on constitution amendment bill and Madhes protest after holding discussions with agitating United Madhesi Democratic Front (UDMF).
 
The meeting of top-notch leaders of major parties held at Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today agreed on forging common view asserting that UDMF’s go-ahead is necessary for amending the constitution to address its demands.

UCPN (Maoist) Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha said the meet decided to discuss with the front apropos changes it wants on the bill.

“We have concluded to from a common stance after discussing the amendment bill,” he said, adding that meet will be held within few days.  

Earlier, UDMF had rejected the three-point proposal presented to it by the government for resolving the ongoing political crisis saying it of being unclear, vague and incomplete.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, UML senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahala, Vice-chairman Shrestha, NC President Sushil Koirala and General Secretary Prakash Man Singh among others were present at the meet.
