KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Chandra Bhandari has expressed his intention to contest for the party presidency at the upcoming 15th General Convention scheduled for January 10 to 12. As the convention approaches, Bhandari took to social media on Wednesday to publicly clarify his ambition.

“In the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, my aspiration for the presidency is clear, and my vision is equally defined,” he wrote. “But I am prepared to move forward in whatever way necessary—from zero to one hundred—depending on what best serves the nation, the people, democracy, and the needs of the organization.”
Bhandari said he believes it is important to act in line with the suggestions of his well-wishers and supporters, as well as the demands of the political moment. His announcement comes as debates over the party’s next leadership intensify within the NC.
