KATHMANDU, March 27: Attorney General Sabita Bhandari has formally resigned from her position. She submitted her resignation to Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Bhandari had been appointed as Attorney General on September 14 by the previous interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki. Following the formation of the new government, she decided to step down after the administration that appointed her changed.

She holds the distinction of being Nepal’s first female Attorney General. The resignation comes in the context of the political leadership transition after President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath to the new Prime Minister. The Attorney General serves as the government’s chief legal advisor.
