According to Jagadish Pokharel, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), a team from CIB raided Singh´s rented residence Friday following his arrest on the charge of swindling money Tuesday. [break]
Police found two deer skin, one tiger skin, four deer horns and 89 fake passports with visas stamped for the UK, Australia and Malaysia.
Police also found 15 sets of domestic weapons and statues of ´archeological importance´.
“The statues will be sent to the Department of Archeology for further investigation,” DSP Singh said.
Police have also found different stamps including that of Nirmal Niwas and several fake documents related to government security agencies. Singh was arrested following several complaints of fraud from individuals. Police suspect Singh might have cheated over 500 people.
Police are preparing to try Singh on charges of swindling and trade in wildlife parts. Singh, who is in police custody, has told police during interrogation that he owns residences in Dhumbarahi and Ason. According to police he has a lot of money deposited in his wife´s name.
