ANFA slaps fine on Three Star

KATHMANDU, May 1: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has fined Three Star Club for fielding overage players during the Nepal Bank Junior A Division League Football Tournament that concluded in March.



Three Star´s opponent in the tournament´s semifinal Bansbari Club had filed a protest but ANFA had over looked the issue earlier.[break]



The decision to ban the players and manager of Three Star Club on Sunday comes after three months of filing the protest by Bansbari on March 1 following their semifinal defeat.



ANFA cross checked the players´ birth registration with other legal authorities and found that Kundup Lama, Biplab Shah, Basanta Tamang and Pamgel Gurung were over-aged for

the tournament.



ANFA decided to fine Rs 25,000 to the club and handed a 1-year ban to all four players including the club´s manager Mahesh Regmi.
