The program is scheduled to end with the screening of various movies of Anand on June 8, 2012 at Kumari Cinema located in Kamal Pokhari. The legendary Indian actor, writer, director and producer, Dev Anand died at 88 in London after suffering a cardiac arrest.[break]
The tribute program was organized by the Embassy of India in association with B P Koirala India-Nepal Foundation.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Shri Jayant Prasad, Ambassador of India to Nepal, and Nepali feature film actress Bhuwan Chand in the presence of many Nepali film artists and Dev Anand’s fans.

Ambassador Jayant Prasad expressed his tribute to Anand and talked about Dev Anand’s love towards Nepal and its people. “Dev Anand was in love with Nepal which represents the bond between the two countries,” said Prasad.
Actress Bhuwan Chand, on the occasion, said, “Dev Anand was an inspiration to the Nepali film industry. He always supported the Nepali film industry and its upliftment.”
Most of the speaker at the program shared their personal memories and feelings while expressing tribute to the great actor. Different clips of films and songs was screened acted by Anand followed by an audio/video presentation on the life and career of the legendary figure.
