91 journalists under FNJ Corporate Province have coronavirus

KATHMANDU, May 7: 91 journalists associated with the Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) have so far contracted the coronavirus.

KATHMANDU, May 7: 91 journalists associated with the Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) have so far contracted the coronavirus. 



FNJ Corporate Province shared that 91 working journalists in 25 media houses, including 19 corporate branches, have COVID-19. The data was collected via telephone from 48 media, including 33 corporate branches.

Corporate Province Chair Bal Krishna Adhikari informed that a central committee member elected from corporate province, a province committee member, two chairpersons of corporate branches and former central secretary among other office bearers have been diagnosed with the virus. 


Adhikari further shared that journalists serving in 25 media house, including Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Radio Nepal, Gorkhapatra, Kantipur Television, Kantipur, Rajdhani, Nepal Television, Mountain TV, Nepal Press, Avenues, Metro FM and Naya Patrika have tested positive for the virus. 


The coronavirus-infected journalists are undergoing treatment at different hospitals, including Manmohan Hospital, Patan Hospital, Norvic Hospital, Teku Hospital and Nepal Police Hospital.
