According to NC lawmaker Udaya Shumsher Rana, lawmaker Giri is outside the Kathmandu Valley while Shila Gautam has gone to New Delhi for the treatment of her husband. "Lawmaker Pradip Giri is outside the valley while Shila Gautam is in New Delhi for the treatment of her husband Khum Bahadur Khadka," said Rana.
Giri hardly shows up in the CA meeting. He was also absent during the oath-taking ceremony of the lawmakers. Giri had also boycotted the meeting when Constitution Drafting Committee Chairman Krishna Prasad Sitaula submitted the preliminary draft of the new constitution.
While UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Prabhu Sah said he boycotted the meeting since the CA is promulgating the new constitution without addressing the Madhes issues. Similarly, Manpur Chaurdhary has also boycotted the CA meeting.
