BAGLUNG, Nov 5: Three of the five Indian nationals detained on charge of defrauding people have escaped from the police custody late Sunday night.

Bibek Shah, Sunil Shah and Bhanu Shah of Bihar, India, managed to run away from the Dobhilla police post, Bhimpokhara, where they had been held.

However, Bhanu Shah and Sunil Shah, the other two detainees, who also hail from the same place, are still under police custody.

The incident occurred when police had kept the detainees in the prison for want of a vehicle to take them to the district headquarters, informed police.

The alleged fraudsters are involved in conning people in the name of cleaning and making gold jewelries and decamping with the customers’ gold.

The police are searching for the absconding culprits.
