15 Maoists injured in clash with students in Dailekh

DAILEKH, May 2: Fifteen Maoist supporters were injured in a clash with students in Dailekh on Sunday.



Students clashed with Maoists after the later tried to disrupt the examinations of Grade XII at the Saraswoti Higher Secondary School.[break]

 

The strike enforcers reached the school after tearing question papers and answer sheets at the Tribhuvan Namuna Higher Secondary School.



Those injured in the clash include Bheri Karnali State Committee member Chhabi Subedi, Shivaram Kami, Prem Bahadur Shahi, Gange Kami, Chhabi Lal Nepali, Chitra Singh, Lok Bahadur Shahi, Tej Pratap Thapa, Krishna Neupane, Ajit Shrestha, Ganja Bahadur Khatri, Kebale Saud and Bandram Jaisi.



According to Maoist’s district in-charge Thir Bahadur Karki, they all received treatment at the District Hospital and three are injured seriously.



Students chased away approximately 60 Maoist supporters from the exam center. They also chanted slogans against Maoists and their general strike.



More than 400 students then moved towards the district party office but police intervened and diverted the rally. The students reached the District Administration Office and held mass meeting.



Maoist supported disrupted exams at four among seven centers in the district.



The district is completely closed due to strike.
