KATHMANDU, March 30: A 27-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her home in Narharinath Rural Municipality-3, Kumalgaun, in Kalikot district.
According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, the deceased has been identified as Manpura Adhikari Budha, 27. Police said she sustained a serious head injury.
DSP Himbahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, Kalikot, said the woman was found dead at her residence. Police have taken her husband, Kasiram Budha, into custody for investigation.
Woman arrested on charge of murdering husband
Police suspect that the woman may have died following an assault by her husband on Sunday night. However, during preliminary questioning, the husband has denied involvement in the incident.
The couple has two sons and one daughter.
Police said procedures to document the scene and collect evidence are currently underway. Ward Chair of Ward No. 3, Katak Bahadur Budha, said the couple had been facing family disputes for some time.
Police said they received information about the incident at around 4 am on Monday and have intensified the investigation.
