The VDC Secretaries Welfare Protection Centre (VSWPC), the representative organization of around 3,900 VDC secretaries all across the country, had shut down VDC offices on Wednesday to press for their demands including elections of local bodies along with Constituent Assembly elections.
Damodar Rijal, who leads VSWPC, said they are not withdrawing their protest but simply letting VDC offices open Friday onwards as they have been assured of fulfillment of their demands. "We will be adopting other means to get our demands addressed," he added.
