KATHMANDU: Shesh Ghale, a non-resident Nepali billionaire based in Australia, has formally announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) ahead of its upcoming general convention planned for October.
“I want to announce my candidacy for the post of president of NRNA´s International Coordination Council (ICC) in the coming general convention to raise the issues of the Nepali diasporam, specially focusing on investment promotion in Nepal from abroad,” said Ghale, at a press conference on Thursday. Elaborating his proposed working plan, Ghale said the registration of NRNA, strengthening safe migration and foreign employment, and reinforcing the demands for dual citizenship for Nepali diaspora to promote inflow of capital and know-how to Nepal would be his priorities.
He also expressed commitment to promoting domestic employment opportunities through more investment in the country.
