MMC thrashed Mitra Milan Club, Dharan 6-2 in the opening match of the National League that kicked off on Friday at the Pokhara Stadium while Police edged past local club Sangam Youth 4-1 in the second match of the day.[break]
MMC took a lead in the 14th minute of the match as Japanese player Ito Dan scored in a pass from Santosh Sahukhala. Subarna Samekham of Mitramilan leveled the score six minutes later but Sahukhala gave another lead to MMC in the 21st minute. Leonel Stephen utilized a pass from Deepak Bhusal and scored the third goal for MMC in the 31st minute. Ito Dan made it 4-1 in the 40th minute as he received a pass from Anil Gurung.
In the second half, Prakash Budhathoki cut MMC´s lead short and the score was 4-2 in the 58th minute. MMC stars Bijay Gurung and Anil Gurung, who were playing in their hometown, scored a goal each to seal a 6-2 win for Manang.
In the second match of the day, Bhola Silwal gave a lead to Police Club against the local club Sangam Youth in the fourth minute. Sangam´s defense was stubborn in the first half and resisted Police Club´s attack time and again. However, Police doubled the lead in the 42nd minute through a penalty.
Kumar Thapa of Sangam pulled down Police Club´s captain Jumanu Rai in the danger area. Parbat Pandey scored from the spot.
In the second half of the match, Rai scored a brace for Police. He utilized a pass from Ramesh Katuwal in the 53rd minute and scored his second in the pass from Bhola Silwal.
Rakesh Gurung scored the consolation goal for Sangam in the 87th minute of the match through a header in a free kick from Arjun Subba.
