Superintendent of Police Nawa Raj Silwal, chief of the Range Office, said he was arrested at about 6 pm, Tuesday. Silwal, however, declined to divulge details about the subject of the investigations.
Dhamala, who is also president of Reporters´ Club, Nepal, has been kept in custody for necessary investigation. Journalists have been denied to meet with Dhamala.

Police sources said that Dhamala allegedly had link with a little known armed outfit called Ranabir Sena. The outfit has been carrying out various criminal activities including minor bomb blasts in the capital city and other parts of the country, advocating reinstatement of the monarchy.
The arrest comes three days after two online journalists were arrested from Kathmandu.
SP Silwal himself had reached Reporters´ Club to arrest Dhamala as he declined to go with a police team sent earlier in civil dress. He was brought to Hanumandhoka in a taxi.
Meanwhile, Home Ministry spokesperson Nabin Ghimire said there was no chance of releasing him right away as he is arrested in course of investigation.
