Maoist ready to review seven-point deal: Sharma

RASUA, March 1: Unified CPN-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said his party was ready to review the seven-point agreement if the public urged them to do so.



He said the deal was signed for ending the political deadlock in the country.[break]



Speaking at a function at Dhunche on Tuesday, he said, the deal was signed by CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist to way out the present political impasse.



He said the Legislative-Parliament could not elect the prime minister even on 17th times due to the parties’ unnecessary stance that Maoist supported CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal.



He said Maoist did not join the government when the UML did not follow the seven-point agreement in letter and spirit.



Other parties’ tried to misguide the public from the fact that Maoist did not join the government claiming Home and Defense, he added.



The UCPN-Maoist supported Khanal for prime minister when Nepali Congress was not ready to lead the government in rotation system, he claimed.
