KATHMANDU, March 3: Police have arrested a 63-year-old man in Arghakhanchi on charges of raping a physically challenged woman.
The suspect, Govinda Prasad Basyal of Kallabot, Sandhikharka Municipality-12, was taken into custody from Sandhikharka-1, according to the District Police Office, Arghakhanchi.
Police said that Basyal remains under investigation after the court extended his remand for five days. A complaint was filed against him for raping a 26-year-old woman a year ago.
Basyal allegedly lured the victim classified under Category A disability to his home under the pretext of household chores and assaulted her when no one was around. The victim gave birth to a son three months ago.
