KATHMANDU, Dec 13: In the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final, Lumbini Lions captain Rohit Paudel produced a magical bowling spell, claiming a hat-trick to put Sudurpaschim Royals under immense pressure.
After winning the toss, Sudurpaschim chose to bat but struggled against Rohit’s fiery bowling at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday. Rohit achieved the hat-trick in the 11th over, taking wickets on the fourth, fifth, and sixth deliveries consecutively.
On the fourth ball, he caught Sudurpaschim captain Dipendra Singh Airey. The fifth delivery saw Deepak Bohara sent back to the pavilion, caught by Sandeep Jora. Completing the hat-trick, Rohit trapped Punit Mehra LBW, marking a historic achievement.
By the end of the 11th over, Sudurpaschim had lost six wickets for just 44 runs, struggling to build any momentum against the Lions’ bowling attack.
