Judges conference begins

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: A two-day conference of judges of the Supreme Court (SC) and appellate courts began in the capital Thursday. All SC justices and chief judges of all appellate courts are participating in the conference. Chief Justice Anup Raj Sharma inaugurated the conference.



The conference is scheduled to discuss mainly four issues.



According to the assistant spokesperson at the SC, Hemanta Rawal, the conference will discuss implementation situation of second strategic plan of judiciary and judges code of conduct.



The judges will also discuss the implementation results of various instructions given by the chief justice and other judges to the subordinate courts during their inspection, and the recently introduced "justice delivery with smile" campaign.



Chief Justice Anup Raj Sharma, SC Registrar Dr Ram Krishana Timalsena and others addressed the opening session of the conference.
