During the talks held at PM´s official residence in Baluwatar, PM Bhattarai underlined the need of support and cooperation from the business entrepreneurs to forge consensus to give country a political outlet. [break]
Stating his commitment towards forging consensus, PM also clarified that he is not power hungry. Bhattarai added however that he would not tender his resignation immediately inviting constitutional crisis in the country.
He also expressed his optimism that though the oppositions are playing the blame game and protesting against the government, eventually all the political parties will agree on forging consensus to give the country a political outlet. Pointing that the need of an hour is consensus, he added that there is no alternative to fresh Constituent Assembly polls and that he declared the dates in line of Supreme Court directive.
Stressing on the need of full fledged budget, he informed that the government is preparing to bring out a complete budget for the fiscal year 2069/70. The prime minister also stressed on the need of a common concept on the budget among major political parties and added further that the budget will be prepared through political consensus.
FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya who was present at the meet, was of opinion that the political stalemate is deteriorating the country´s private sectors, hence it is important to forge consensus through talks to end the current political impasse.
Expressing concern over the country’s current situation, the former president of FNCCI Chandi Raj Dhakal also stressed on political stability for a country to develop economically.
The participants in the meeting advised PM to opt for full budget for the next fiscal year. They also reiterated the need of sound working environment for the prime minister, whoever he may be, to drive country towards prosperity.
