Govt staffers donate Rs 43,895 to govt fund

KATHMANDU, Feb 29: Employees at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction have donated Rs 43,895 to the New Nepal Building Fund set up by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.



A meeting of the ministry employees held on Thursday decided to donate the amount as per the appeal made by Prime Minister Bhattarai to contribute one day´s salary to the fund. [break]



While Secretary Dharanidhar Khatiwada donated his seven days´ salary, remaining 60 employees at the ministry donated one day´s salary, according to deputy spokesperson of the ministry, Prem Prasad Sanjel.



The prime minister has announced that money from the fund will be used to carry out campaigns for social awareness, social upliftment and economic prosperity.
