KATHMANDU, Jan 3 :Police have started looking for the absconding suspect who booked the hotel room where a young woman was found dead on December 31.

Susmita Khadka, 22, was found dead in Room 308 of Bagmati Hotel, Gaushala, Kathmandu. Khadka, a resident of Alapot in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, had checked into the hotel earlier that day with a man.

The room had been booked under the name of Dev Bahadur Thapa, who is originally from Okhaldhunga and currently resides in Japan. Thapa’s family lives in Alapot. Hotel records indicate that he submitted a photocopy of his driver’s license during the booking.

Police are searching for Thapa, who is absconding. While there are no visible injuries on Khadka’s body, authorities suspect foul play. The exact cause of her death remains under investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Thapa’s whereabouts to come forward.
