POKHARA, March 12: Krishna Thapa, a central committee member of CPN (UML) and former chair of the party’s Kaski district committee, died on Thursday due to a heart attack.
Thapa, who was currently responsible for coordinating the party in Kaski, suffered the heart attack during a review meeting of the House of Representatives Election-2082.

According to UML Kaski District Chair Bain Bahadur Adhikari Kshetri, Thapa had just finished sharing his views during the meeting when he suddenly felt uncomfortable.
“He said he was feeling uneasy just as the meeting was ending. While still seated on the chair, he lost consciousness,” Adhikari said. “We immediately rushed him to Manipal Teaching Hospital, reaching there within nine minutes, but he could not be saved.”
Doctors reportedly made several attempts to revive him, but there was no improvement. It was also reported that Thapa had low blood pressure issues, though it is not known whether he was taking medication for the condition.
The review meeting had been called after UML suffered a clean sweep loss in Kaski, which has traditionally been considered a stronghold of the party.
