KATHMANDU, March 19: Air traffic in Kathmandu was disrupted on Wednesday due to strong winds, rain and hail, forcing the diversion of multiple international flights and delaying several domestic services.
According to the office of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), a China Eastern aircraft en route from Kunming, China, was diverted to Kolkata, India, after failing to land due to adverse weather conditions.

Similarly, an IndiGo flight arriving from New Delhi was diverted to Lucknow.
Several domestic flights were also put on hold as deteriorating weather conditions affected both en route operations and landing procedures in Kathmandu.
TIA officials said flight movements were impacted as pilots were unable to operate safely amid poor visibility and unstable weather.
