MORANG, Oct 9: Police have arrested a person from Itahari of Sunsari district on the rape charge.
Najam Ansari aka Niraj Sharma, who had been at large for the last eight months, was arrested from his home at Itahari-1, Halgada on Friday.

According to Police Inspector Rishiraj Dhaka, the accused had reportedly raped a 26-year-old woman at Pinaki Hotel in Sundarharaicha-10 on January 25 earlier this year. “Our preliminary investigation also indicated that he had raped the girl under the pretext of providing a job to the victim,” he added.
The police on Friday presented Ansari to the court and got his judicial custody extended.
