5,500 Nepalis in Israel, 12 in Iran safe: MoFA

KATHMANDU, June 16: Amid tensions between Israel and Iran over the past three days, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has issued a statement confirming the safety of Nepali nationals in both countries.



“As per the information received, approximately 5,500 Nepalis in Israel and about 12 in Iran are reported to be safe,” the statement said.

Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has instructed the Nepali ambassadors in Tel Aviv and Doha to give top priority to ensuring the safety of Nepali nationals. She has also directed the embassies to maintain regular communication with the Nepali community and to provide timely updates on security advisories issued by the respective host countries.
