14 held for possessing drugs

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Fourteen people have been arrested from different parts of the capital over the last 10 days in possession of drugs. According to the Narcotic Drugs Control Law Enforcement Unit, New Baneshwar, eight of those arrested from New Buspark, Balaju are Jiyalal Sahani of Birta-5, Parsa, Yathapa Tamang and Jayaram Tamang of Dhading, Bailama Tamang aka Ramesh from Jharlang-7, Dhading, Kalimaya Tamang aka Rita of Deurali-9, Nuwakot, and Mahesh Kurmi of Birgunj-18, Parsa.



They were found in possession of 530 gm of brown sugar. Likewise, Chandra Bahadur Neupane of Nijgadh-7, Bara was arrested from Kalanki in possession of 80 gm of brown sugar and Sahaj Das of Badahara Mala, Siraha was arrested from Kalanki Chowk in possession of 50 gm brown sugar. Police said the rest of them were held with prescription drugs like Buprenorphine and Diazepam from different places of Kathmandu.



According to the police, Gopal Prasad Gupta of Morang, Ganesh Kumar Lama of Dhanusha, Sunil Kumar Tamang of Sarlahi, Arun Kumar Sah of Siraha, Lal Kumari Puri of Bara and Shanti Kumari Ale of Kathmandu are the other six arrested.
