Jhapa prepares to regulate alcohol consumption

JHAPA, Oct. 25: Issuing a 12-point declaration against crime control, all 15 local governments in Jhapa district have promised to regulate alcohol sale and distribution in the district from January 15, 2019.

KATHMANDU, Oct 25:  Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr Pushpa Chaudhari, who had fallen into controversy related to the Kathmandu National Medical College, has been transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Dr Chaudhari has been accused of playing a supportive role to illegally grant permission to the medical college to run a hospital.

ILAM, Oct 25: The government is working to set up an immigration office at the Pashupatinagar checkpoint in Ilam district to allow foreign tourists to enter Nepal through the checkpoint. Local entrepreneurs said the checkpoint would hugely benefit the tourism sector in eastern Nepal.
