Transmission line affects work of 6-lane road

TIKAPUR, Oct 12: The under-construction 6-lane road in Tikapur has been affected by the Nepal Electricity Authority’s (NEA) 33 KV transmission line. The construction has been affected as the authority has delayed shifting the poles of the transmission line.

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Flowers of various types have been used to decorate the Kathmandu streets in a gesture to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping in Nepal. It is estimated that at least Rs 50 million has been spent on planting flowers or using them in pots along the roads as decorative items.

Stocks flat after 5 day long holiday

KATHMANDU: Nepali stocks opened roughly flat after Dashain holidays amid thin trading witnessed on Thursday. Stocks wavered along the opening level in the initial trading hour before trading slightly in the green in the afternoon. Latter trading hours saw the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index pull back slightly to close the day with a marginal decline of 0.39 points at 1,149.01 points.

Preparations for an auto village in Pokhara

POKHARA , Oct 12: The Capital of Gandaki Province, Pokhara is planning to build an "auto village" in the city.  Disorganized vehicle and motorcycle workshops on both sides of the road right from the entry point of Pokhara and the roads inside the city have made the city look ugly, dirty, and malodorous. Pokhara Metropolis with a purpose to manage the "auto business" and workshops has prepared to make an auto village in the city.
