The police arrested Lila Chhatyal aka Sita Chhatyal, 32, of Malkawang VDC-5 of Myagdi for misusing Sah's red passport (019827). Chhatyal was on the run after she was deported to Nepal from Abu Dhabi about two years ago. Chhatyal managed to dodge the police and escape soon after she landed at Tribuwan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu.According to DSP Dinesh Acharya, spokesperson of Metropolitan Police Range Office,
Chhatyal was arrested from Samakhushi-27 of Kathmandu.
Earlier, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police had launched investigation after a man and a woman were arrested at Abu Dhabi airport on their way to Australia with diplomatic passports belonging to two Nepalese lawmakers.
CA members Sah and Bishwanath Prasad (BP) Yadav were found guilty of colluding with fraudsters for monetary benefits. Sah and Yadav's CA membership was scrapped after the matter came to light after their involvement became clear with the discovery of fake visa notes prepared in their names.
Sah, who represented Nepali Janata Dal and Yadav, represented Madheshi People´s Rights Forum, were found to have provided their original citizenship certificates and CA ID cards together with their passports for the forgery to obtain visas for the two.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs too had investigated on the misuse, after Prithivi Chhatyal, who was found misusing Yadav's passport number 019893, was deported to Nepal along with the woman misusing Sah's passport number 019826 from Abu Dhabi.
